NY Cheese & Wine Week

The 5th edition of the New York Cheese & Wine Week is back and will take place from March 7 to 16, 2022. Created by Jean-François Hesse, founder of Essential PR, this tasty celebration brings together top European dairy and wine producers from the Savoie region of France.  

For this celebratory week, participating restaurants and venues throughout the city will offer enjoyable tastings and pairings prepared by the executive chefs and professional sommeliers.

For the cheese lovers out there, you will have the opportunity to try a variety of cheeses from flavorful blues, and creamy brie to hard sheep’s milk cheese. Prime quality producers include Emmi Cheese, Savencia Fromage and Dairy, Germain Fromagerie, Fromagerie Henri Hutin, and Fromi.

If you are looking for a silky brie with nutty notes, I recommend Brebirousse D’Argental without a doubt! Made from pure pasteurized sheep milk, it doesn’t only look pretty, it tastes good as well!

For a more fruity flavor, and a creamier texture you can also try Époisses, which is made from cow’s milk and is produced by Germain Fromagerie. From the same producers I suggest you try Le Pico, made from goat’s milk, it has a melty center and a rich taste that I loved!

As for wine lovers, you won’t be disappointed either! Exquisite wines from the Savoie region of France are waiting for you. You shouldn’t miss trying the Richel Savoie Blanc 2020 that combines a light texture with fruity aromas and notes of honey.
