The twelfth edition of Governors Ball is moving to Flushing Meadows Corona Park, one of The Big Apple’s most iconic green spaces, and host to historical events including two World’s Fairs and the annual US Open Tennis Championship.
The borough of Queens will continue on as the home of Governors Ball, featuring a lineup of 60+ performing artists, including headliners Kendrick Lamar, Lizzo, and ODESZA.
After two successful years at Citi Field, like a true New Yorker, the Governors Ball Music Festival is on the move again, packing up its famed tattooed Lady Liberty statue and making the short trip to Flushing Meadows Corona Park. A return to the long-running festival’s traditional park-side setting (after leaving Randall’s Island Park in 2021), the new location combines the easy accessibility festival fans loved about Citi Field (multiple transportation options include the MTA’s 7 train line, the LIRR), with an inviting green space with shady trees and grassy fields as the perfect setting for a weekend of great music, good times and amazing food.
In addition to partnering with local non-profits via the Governors Ball Gives Back program, the festival is excited to be working with the famed Queens Night Market to bring a host of Night Market favorites to the 2023 festival as vendors, giving attendees a true taste of the rich cultural diversity and heritage of NYC and Queens.
In a year of big announcements, the 2023 edition of the festival sees the introduction of the GA+ ticket type as well, featuring access to air-conditioned restrooms, an exclusive centrally located lounge area with shade, seating, and its own exclusive bar, food vendors and water refill stations. The GA+ lounge will also include a dedicated concierge for GA+ ticket holders with their festival needs. VIP and Platinum ticket options will also be available, featuring their own exclusive lounges and viewing areas at each stage, exclusive bars and food vendors, a concierge, storage lockers and mobile charging units, a premium entrance, and other amenities.
