Following a three-year hiatus, City Harvest’s signature tasting event, BID, is back in-person at The Glasshouse in Manhattan on Tuesday, October 18. City Harvest Presents BID 2022: Through the Looking Glass will bring together the biggest names in the culinary industry to help City Harvest provide meals to the millions of New Yorkers in need.
Guests will be immersed in this year’s magical wonderland as they sample food and drinks from more than 50 of New York City’s best chefs, restaurants, and mixologists. This year’s event, produced by LeFeast and Karlitz & Company, will feature an array of culinary titans, including Geoffrey Zakarian, Eric Ripert, Tom Colicchio, Melba Wilson, Emma Bengtsson, Alfred Portale, Ron Ben-Israel, Cedric Vongerichten, and Leah Cohen. In addition, some of New York’s most acclaimed restaurants, such as Aquavit, Chinese Tuxedo, Estiatorio Milos, COTE Korean Steakhouse, Le Bernardin, Rao’s, Katsuya, Don Angie, and Scampi, will be serving their best bites.
“As costs continue to surge for essentials like food and rent, New Yorkers are once again stepping up to help feed their neighbors in need. We are excited to welcome the City Harvest family back to our first BID, the city’s premiere tasting event, in three years,” says Jilly Stephens, CEO of City Harvest. “BID 2022: Through the Looking Glass will bring together more than 50 of New York City’s best chefs, restaurants, and mixologists to help ensure every New Yorker has the food they need to thrive.”
Guests can also travel through the rabbit hole to find GZ’s Wonderland, an interactive VIP lounge experience that includes gourmet tastings, luxury purveyors, and specialty cocktails by top mixologists.
“I am thrilled that our fantastic marquee event, BID, is back in person. We have such an incredible night planned – from the best food in New York City to live music that is going to keep the party rocking. Every dollar we raise is going to help feed our neighbors in need,” says Geoffrey Zakarian, City Harvest Board Member and Chair of the City Harvest Food Council.
This year, guests can bid on a variety of auction items, including a getaway for two in the Caribbean at the Cayman Cookout with Chef Eric Ripert; a rooftop barbeque with COTE Korean Steakhouse; and a private dinner in Don Angie’s not-yet-open private events space.
