Michael Arenella, the host and creator of the celebrated annual Jazz Age Lawn Party, expands his Dreamland Orchestra’s events this summer with the first annual Dreamland Oktoberfest & Vintage German Auto Show. In honor of the beer festival that is celebrated globally and annually, the Dreamland Oktoberfest will be hosted at the American Spirits Roadhouse in Asbury, NJ on October 2nd and 3rd beginning at 12pm each day.
The festival will have a variety of activities and events for all ages including but not limited to: live polka, oompah & Eastern European bands, authentic Bavarian biergarten, freshly-made Oktoberfest food village (including German sausages, pretzels, Spätzle, etc.), a stein-host contest with prizes, and a vintage German auto and moto show. Attendees are welcome to bring their vintage vehicles to the auto show, but they must pre-register vehicles in advance by emailing dreamlandoktoberfestautos@gmail.com. The show is only open to German cars, trucks, and motorcycles made in 1994 or older. Exhibitors and their passengers will be allotted free admission.
“I conceived this new event to marry my passion for Brass Band music with two of my favorite pastimes: Vintage German vehicles and enjoying a Pilsner on a crisp Autumn day. We invite everyone to take out their Lederhosen and Dirndls (or anything they’d like to wear) for this fun and lighthearted celebration of the Fall season, music, good beer and good friends,” said Michael Arenella.
Michael is a musician, crooner, bandleader and impresario best known for leading his Dreamland Orchestra at his Jazz Age Lawn Party on New York’s Governors Island. Michael’s love of Jazz Age culture inspired him to throw the first Jazz Age Lawn Party in 2005 for an intimate group of friends and fellow torch carriers of a bygone era.
The Dreamland Oktoberfest is committed to hosting a fun and safe event with strict adherence to NJ state COVID-19 protocols. Proof of a negative COVID-19 test or vaccination certificate may also be required. An updated protocol list will be announced prior to the event. The event will also be held outdoors in the sun, but it will be moved indoors in the event of rain.
Admission includes one free beer and a commemorative stein. Tickets are $25 for Saturday, $15 for Sunday, or $30 for a full weekend pass. Admission is free for children 14 years and younger.
